Sharon Kohanyuk, M.Ed, LPC
Sharon Kohanyuk is a Licensed Professional Counselor. After many years of teaching, God instilled within Sharon a passion to help children, adolescents, and their families beyond academics. She completed her Master's degree in the field of counseling at the University of North Texas.
Upon completion of her counseling degree, she worked as a school counselor in an intermediate school before realizing the Lord's ultimate plan for her--Christ-centered counseling in private practice. Sharon has been counseling with children, adolescents, and their families using play therapy, sand tray therapy, activity therapy, and parent consultations, centered upon the One True Healer--Jesus Christ.
Additionally, Sharon has been involved in her church leading groups for children and their parents experiencing divorce, single parenting, and blended family situations. Through a church outreach ministry, she also has been blessed to counsel with women and children who have experienced domestic violence.
Sharon is a member of the following professional organizations: American Association of Christian Counselors; Association for Play Therapy; New Life Ministries Network; and Texas Counseling Association.
